Promotion and assessment policy

Rules for Assessment:

CLASS I TO VIII:

  • School will assess a child based on Scholastic and Co-Scholastic areas. Scholastic will include Internal (20 marks) / Periodic Assessment (30 marks) and Half Yearly & Yearly / Annual Examination (50 marks).

Subjects: English, Hindi, Gujarati, Sanskrit, Mathematics, EVS, Science, Social Science & other Graded subjects like Computer, General Knowledge & Drawing

Term-1 (first half of session): 30 marks Periodic Assessment + 20 marks CCE (Continuous comprehensive internal evaluation) 50 marks for Half Yearly Exam

Term-2 (second half of session): 30 marks Periodic Assessment + 20 marks CCE (Continuous comprehensive internal evaluation) 50 marks for Annual Exam

Periodic Assessment comprises of Periodic Test (weightage10 marks) + Note Book Submission (weightage 5 marks) + Subject Enrichment Activity (weightage 5marks).

  • Co-scholastic Areas are: skill-based activities, Work Education; Art Education; Health & Physical Education and other co-curricular activities like dance, art, music, etc along-with Discipline.

  • Thus, Term-I: 100 marks (Periodic Test-30 marks + CCE 20 marks + HY 50 marks)
  • Term-II:100 marks (Periodic Test-30 marks + CCE 20 marks Annual 50 marks)
  • Child needs to secure 33% in Half Yearly and Yearly / Annual Exam separately to pass in a particular subject. To get passed and promoted to next class, child has to secure 33% in each subject.
  • If a child secures E-grade (below 33%) in Half Yearly and Annual Examination in a particular subject, then he/she can be given ONE opportunity to IMPROVE his/her performance based on the syllabus meant for Term-I & Term-II. There is only ONE ATTEMPT to qualify the Improvement Exam.

CLASS IX

  • School will assess a child on Scholastic and Co-Scholastic areas. Scholastic will include Internal Assessment (20 marks) and External Assessment (180 marks).
  • Internal Assessment comprises 20 marks for Note Book Submission + Subject Enrichment Activity, projects, assignments, Quiz, oral exam, class behavior & conduct, Attendance, discipline, Group discussion, public speech, extempore speech.

  • Child needs to secure 33% in Annual Exam to pass in a particular subject. If a child fails to secure the same, he/she can be given ONE opportunity to IMPROVE his/her performance based on the whole syllabus. There is only ONE ATTEMPT to qualify the Improvement Exam.
  • 75% Attendance is a must for a child to appear for Annual Examination held in April. In case child is falling short of mandatory 75% of attendance, then he/she will not be eligible to appear in Annual Examination. Please ensure that your child fulfills attendance criteria.
